As many of you may not know already, I have been creating custom template drawings for customers. This is not something that was ever advertised, it just came about after various people contacted me via email to ask if it was possible.
Because of this, I have decided to add the service to the shop – you can find it here.
A form is provided for you to specify all of your instrument needs and articulate your custom design properly. The form streamlines the process and provides an accurate price. Prices start at $150 USD, but some features may bump the price up slightly due to the added time to completion. If, for any reason, you need help with your design or decisions, you’re welcome to email me directly (via the contact form).
A custom template set comes with DXFs, PDFs, and original vector files (AI). If a specific variation of the instrument is wanted in separate templates, please state this in your order form. If any other filetypes are needed, they can be exported for you (as long as they’re not vendor-specific).
Customers have so far been 100% satisfied, and I intend to keep that statistic!

Additional Updates
After a long period of silence regarding the development of the AC-2 (Auto Coil pickup winder), it is finally coming together. The chassis has been manufactured by a company in China called JTC Machining and will be arriving in a few weeks time (see images below).
This particular fabricator was selected after an inordinately lengthy search for someone willing to provide reasonable prices for prototypes and bulk orders. Anyone needing metal or plastic fabrication is encouraged to speak with Alice (email) – she has gone above and beyond, providing updated quotes and projections through a number of cost-reducing redesigns.
The Covid virus has slowed things down as of late, and that has affected the amount of money being funneled into the project. This is why the Custom Template Drawing Service has been added to the shop. Any purchases made from Electric Herald’s shop will directly fund the AC-2’s completion and bulk manufacturing process.

This chassis and brackets utilize 2mm galvanized steel with black paint, while the functional parts are milled from aluminum (6061) and anodized. The aluminum parts may be switched to a natural polished finish for the final model.
